All Diecast Markets policies

This policy explains how money moves on Diecast Markets: how a buyer pays, how a seller is paid, why a payout can be held, and what happens on a refund, reversal, or chargeback. It works with the Marketplace Terms, Fees & Taxes, and Buyer Protection.

How buyers pay

Every purchase is paid through Stripe Checkout in Canadian dollars. Checkout ships within Canada, excluding Quebec. Quebec support is planned for a future release. Diecast Markets does not see or store full card numbers. Stripe handles the card, the authorization, and the charge. Before Stripe opens, you review the item, the seller, the price, the shipping terms, the tax treatment, the total, and the policy versions that apply, and you can correct the shipping address. Paying off the marketplace for a marketplace listing is not permitted and is not covered by Buyer Protection.

Returning from Stripe does not by itself mark an order paid. The order is marked paid when Stripe confirms the payment to our server and the confirmed amount matches the order total. If the amounts do not match, the order is not marked paid and support reviews it.

How sellers are paid

Sellers are paid through Stripe Connect. A seller must complete Stripe Connect onboarding, and Stripe must report that the account can receive payouts, before a transfer is sent. Diecast Markets sends the seller payout as a Stripe transfer to that connected account. The transfer amount is the item price less the Diecast Markets platform fee, adjusted for any refund on that order. The standard Diecast Markets platform fee is 4% of the item price. Stripe payment processing is separate from the Diecast Markets platform fee. This marketplace does not state a Stripe processing percentage. A Pro subscription does not by itself waive the Diecast Markets platform fee. The 4% seller fee applies unless Diecast Markets has explicitly enabled a Pro fee waiver. Stripe payment processing remains separate. A fee already recorded on an order is not rewritten if that rule changes later.

A payout status shown in Seller Hub is not a completed bank deposit until Stripe sends the transfer and your bank posts it. Stripe controls how quickly funds arrive after that point.

Payout holds

After payment is recorded, the seller payout is held. The current release estimates are 14 days after payment, 7 days after the seller marks the order shipped with tracking, and 3 days after the buyer confirms receipt. A payout stays held or is blocked while an order is unshipped past the ship target, while a marketplace dispute is open, while a refund is being processed, or while a card chargeback is open. A release is not automatic while any of those conditions exists.

Refunds and reversals

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. A full refund reverses the seller payout. A partial refund reduces it. If a refund is issued after a payout has already been transferred, Diecast Markets may reverse or recover the transferred amount from the seller's connected account where Stripe and the law allow, and may hold future payouts against the balance. A seller who cancels an order the buyer already paid for triggers a refund to the buyer.

Chargebacks

A chargeback is a dispute a cardholder opens with their bank or card network. It is separate from a marketplace dispute. When Stripe notifies us of a chargeback on an order, the seller payout is blocked until the chargeback closes. Diecast Markets and the seller may submit evidence through Stripe. If the chargeback is lost after a payout has been sent, the amount may be recovered from the seller as described above. Opening a chargeback does not end a marketplace dispute, and a marketplace decision does not bind the card network.

Reserves, errors, and records

Where the payment provider or the law permits, a reserve or delayed payout may be applied to an account with elevated refund, dispute, or chargeback activity. If a payment or payout is recorded in error, we may correct it and will tell the affected party. Order, payment, refund, and payout records are kept for the periods described in the Privacy Policy, including for accounting and tax reporting.

What is not live

Real-money checkout, including Canadian sales-tax calculation and collection, remains closed until the Canada commerce compliance gate is approved. When checkout opens, any buyer-paid shipping shown on the listing is included in the Stripe checkout total. Automatic shipping labels are not live. A paid seller subscription is not offered, and this page does not start or cancel one.
