All Diecast Markets policies

This notice states the fees Diecast Markets Inc. charges and how taxes are treated on Diecast Markets. The version shown at checkout is stored on the order.

Standard seller platform fee

The standard Diecast Markets platform fee is 4% of the item price. It is calculated on the item price of each paid order and deducted from the seller payout. The buyer is not charged a separate Diecast Markets buyer fee. Buyer-paid shipping, when selected by the seller, is separately disclosed and included in the Stripe checkout total, but it is not part of the platform-fee base in this version.

Stripe payment processing

Stripe payment processing is separate from the Diecast Markets platform fee. This marketplace does not state a Stripe processing percentage. Stripe's charges are set by Stripe under the seller's Stripe Connect agreement and are not part of, and are never represented as part of, the 4% Diecast Markets fee.

Seller subscription

A paid seller subscription is not offered. A Pro subscription does not by itself waive the Diecast Markets platform fee. The 4% seller fee applies unless Diecast Markets has explicitly enabled a Pro fee waiver. Stripe payment processing remains separate. A fee already recorded on an order is not rewritten if that rule changes later. The 4% platform fee still applies to completed sales. An existing seller subscription, if any, is not cancelled from this page and can be reviewed in the Stripe billing portal.

Tax on Diecast Markets fees

If GST/HST or another tax becomes chargeable on the platform fee or on Pro, it will be shown as a separate tax amount and will not be hidden inside the 4% fee. Tax on fees is not turned on in this version.

Collection Tracking Pro

Collection Tracking Pro, when checkout is enabled, is $7.99 CAD per month plus the GST/HST that applies to the billing address. Stripe Tax calculates that amount. The price is not tax-inclusive, and the tax rate is not hardcoded in checkout. The subscription is separate from marketplace item sales and from the retired seller subscription. Quebec is excluded. Saskatchewan and Manitoba are excluded until a provincial registration authorizes collection of PST or RST on this service. British Columbia provincial sales tax is not added by this integration unless a British Columbia PST registration is later present in Stripe Tax. Cancelling in the billing portal stops the next renewal and does not delete collection records. Collection Tracking Pro includes $3.00 CAD of AI scanning per billing period. A repeated scan of the same photo uses the saved result and does not spend the allowance. When the allowance is used, adding and editing cars manually still works. AI scanning is not unlimited. This notice is not a legal opinion, and it does not by itself turn checkout on.

Sales tax on marketplace items

Real-money checkout is currently closed and does not add GST/HST or provincial sales tax. The destination province is captured so the correct treatment can be applied once the marketplace tax design is implemented and approved. Quebec and countries outside Canada are not live.

Canadian marketplace tax rules can put the collection and remittance duty on the platform, not only on the seller. Depending on the facts and registration status, a distribution platform operator can be required to collect GST/HST on qualifying goods it facilitates for vendors who are not registered under the normal GST/HST regime. Provincial marketplace rules can also apply: British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba have rules that can require an online marketplace/platform operator that facilitates sales and collects buyer payment to register, collect, remit, and keep required records for taxable marketplace sales. We will not enable real-money checkout until the applicable federal and provincial treatment is implemented for the destinations we support.

Seller tax obligations

Sellers remain responsible for their own income-tax obligations and for registrations, filings, records, and sales-tax duties that applicable law assigns to them. Where the law assigns collection or remittance to Diecast Markets Inc. as the marketplace operator, we do not shift that platform obligation to the seller by contract. Seller tax-registration information may be collected so the marketplace can determine which party is responsible and meet reporting or tax obligations.

Platform obligations

The seller's responsibility does not eliminate any duty the law places on the platform. Diecast Markets Inc. may itself have tax collection, remittance, withholding, recordkeeping, or platform reporting obligations where required by law, including under Canada's digital platform operator reporting rules (Income Tax Act Part XX). To meet them we may collect seller identity, address, tax residence, tax identifier, date of birth, financial account details, transaction totals, fees, refunds, and other reportable activity, and may report required seller information to the Canada Revenue Agency. The Part XX small-goods-seller exclusion is not an income-tax exemption. A seller is excluded from that reporting rule for a calendar year only when both tests are met: fewer than 30 facilitated goods sales and total consideration that does not exceed CAD $2,800.

If Part XX applies to us as a reporting platform operator, the operational process must complete the required seller due diligence and verification and provide reportable sellers with their required annual information by the same January 31 reporting deadline. The presence of a tax-profile form by itself is not treated as proof that those operational duties are complete.

Seller finance dashboard

The finance screen in Seller Hub is provided for recordkeeping and reconciliation only. It is not tax, legal, or accounting advice, not a tax return, and not an official CRA form. Amounts shown may not equal taxable income or tax owing. Consult the CRA, your provincial authority, or a qualified professional for your situation.
