Buyer Protection
  • Funds held in escrow — seller can't be paid until you receive the item
  • 72-hour dispute window after delivery confirmed
  • Every shipment requires tracking — delivery is verifiable
  • Seller provides packing video — proves condition at shipment
  • Unboxing video required — record yourself opening the package for full dispute protection
  • Full refund if item never arrives and tracking confirms non-delivery
📋
Seller Protection
  • Payment collected before you ship — never ship without confirmed payment
  • Packing video protects against false "not as described" claims
  • Tracking proof = your proof of shipment. No tracking = no protection.
  • After 3 days with no dispute, payout is automatic
  • Fraudulent buyer claims reviewed with tracking + video evidence
🎥
Packing Video — Required

Before sealing, record yourself packing from start to finish. Show item condition, how it's packed, and the sealed box — one continuous take.

No video = no seller dispute protection. This is the most important rule on the platform.
📬
Tracked Shipping — Required

Every shipment must use a tracked service. Enter your tracking number in the dashboard within 24hrs of drop-off.

Sellers who ship without tracking waive all dispute protection. No exceptions.
📸
Accurate Photos — Required

Photos must show the actual item being sold. Condition must be accurately described. Damage must be disclosed up front.

Misrepresenting condition = immediate account suspension + seller absorbs full refund.
📹
Unboxing Video — Required for Buyers

When your package arrives, record yourself opening it from start to finish. Show the sealed package, the opening process, and the item condition — one continuous take with no cuts.

No unboxing video = no buyer dispute protection. Required for any "damaged" or "not as described" claim.
⏱️
Ship Within 3 Business Days

Once sale confirmed and address received, you have 3 business days to ship and upload tracking. Contact support early if you have an emergency — silence is not protected.

Only list items you can ship within 3 days. Don't list what you can't access quickly.

PACK IT RIGHT.
SHIP IT SAFE.

Follow this guide on every shipment. It protects the buyer, it protects you, and it's your evidence in any dispute.

Does the buyer care about condition?

Yes — Collector Grade
Card condition matters. Blister must arrive pristine. Common for RLCs, Supers, carded premiums.
🏎️
No — Player Grade / Loose
Buyer wants the car. Loose cars, played-with condition, or buyer said condition doesn't matter.
Collector Grade PackingGoal: zero card contact with anything hard, zero moisture, zero movement inside the box. Follow every step.
1
Record your packing video — before anything else
Open your camera and start recording. Show the car's condition — front and back of card, any existing marks. Keep it rolling throughout. One continuous take, no cuts.
💡 TipProp your phone against something so both hands are free. The video must be uninterrupted.
2
Wrap the blister (plastic bubble) in painter's tape
Wrap the entire plastic blister — the dome part that holds the car — in blue painter's tape. Layer until fully covered. The tape is low-tack so it won't damage the blister, but it creates a protective shell against cracks and scuffs.
🔵
Painter's tape
📦
Wrap blister
Full coverage
💡 Why painter's tape?Regular tape leaves residue. Packing tape cracks plastic. Painter's tape is the collector-safe standard.
⚠️ Don't skip thisThe blister is the most vulnerable part. One knock without protection = permanent crack.
3
Wrap the card in tissue paper or printer paper
Place the card face-down on white tissue or printer paper. Fold snugly around it like a gift wrap. This prevents the card face from rubbing against bubble wrap and getting micro-scratches.
💡 What to useWhite tissue paper or plain printer paper only. Never newspaper — ink transfers.
4
Wrap in two full layers of bubble wrap
Wrap the paper-sleeved card in bubble wrap — at least two layers. Bubbles facing inward. Tape closed so it can't unwrap. Make sure no card edges are exposed.

5
Choose the right rigid box
Use a cardboard box slightly larger than the wrapped car — 1 inch of padding space on all sides minimum. Canada Post Small Box or USPS Priority flat-rate boxes work perfectly for single cards.
⚠️ Never use padded envelopes for carded cars.No rigid structure — one knee from a postal worker and your card corners are bent. Box only for collector grade.
6
Fill every gap — pass the shake test
Place wrapped car in center. Fill all gaps with crumpled kraft paper or packing peanuts. Seal the box and shake it firmly. If anything moves, add more fill.
💡 The shake testIf you can hear or feel anything shifting — it's not packed right. Keep adding fill.
7
Seal all seams + FRAGILE labels on 2 sides
Tape every seam — top, bottom, all edges. Run two strips across the top. Add FRAGILE labels on at least two sides. Also place a copy of the address label inside the box in case the outside label is destroyed.
8
Back up your video + get tracking
Back up the packing video to cloud storage immediately. Get a receipt with tracking number at the post office. Enter the tracking number in your seller dashboard within 24hrs. Your protection starts here.
🏎️
Player Grade / Loose Car PackingGoal: prevent scratches and rattling in transit. Lighter packing — but tracking and packing video are still required.
1
Record your packing video — still required
Even for loose cars — record yourself packing. Show the car's condition and any existing wear, then pack on camera. Protects you from "not as described" claims.
2
Wrap each car individually in bubble wrap or tissue
Single layer of bubble wrap or tissue around each car. Tape closed. For multiple cars, wrap each one separately so they can't scratch each other in transit.
💡 Multiple carsEach car separate — even if buyer ordered 20. Cars clinking = scratched paint = dispute.
3
Padded mailer or small box depending on quantity
1–5 loose cars: padded bubble mailer works fine — cheaper to ship. 6+ cars: use a small rigid box with fill material so nothing shifts.

Seal, label, and always use tracked shipping
Tape it shut, label clearly, always choose a tracked service. Even a $3 loose car needs tracking. If it gets lost without tracking, you are fully unprotected in any dispute.
⚠️ No tracking = no seller protection. Mandatory on every single shipment.

WHEN THINGS
GO WRONG

Every scenario is covered. Here's exactly what happens in each situation and what you need to do.

📦
Scenario 1 — Item arrived damaged
The seller packed it correctly but the carrier damaged it in transit.
Seller — what to do
  • 1.Locate your packing video — this is your proof the item left in perfect condition.
  • 2.File a damage claim with your carrier (Canada Post, USPS, etc.) online or at the post office. Keep your receipt — it has the tracking number and declared value.
  • 3.Ask the buyer to photograph the damaged packaging and item — you'll need this for the carrier claim.
  • 4.Submit the dispute through your dashboard with your packing video and carrier claim reference number.
Buyer — what to do
  • 1.Photograph the damaged box and item immediately — before moving or unpacking further.
  • 2.File a dispute through the platform within 3 days of delivery. Select "Damaged in transit."
  • 3.Share your damage photos via the dispute form. Keep the original packaging — the carrier may need to inspect it.
  • 4.Your escrow payment is held until the carrier claim is resolved. You will be refunded once the claim pays out.
Outcome: Seller receives carrier insurance payout. Buyer receives full refund from escrow. Neither party loses money — this is why insured tracked shipping is mandatory.
⚠️
Scenario 2 — Item not as described
The item arrived but condition doesn't match the listing.
Seller — what to do
  • 1.Locate your packing video immediately. This is your primary evidence.
  • 2.Respond to the dispute within 48 hours through your dashboard.
  • 3.If your video clearly shows the item matching the listing, the dispute will be dismissed in your favour.
Buyer — what to do
  • 1.File a dispute within 3 days of delivery. Select "Not as described."
  • 2.Upload clear photos of the item next to the listing description showing the discrepancy.
  • 3.Do not open, damage, or alter the item further — it may need to be returned.
Outcome: Packing video reviewed against listing photos. If seller misrepresented — buyer refunded, seller account flagged. If item matched listing — dispute dismissed, seller paid in full. Repeat misrepresentation = permanent ban.
📭
Scenario 3 — Item never arrived
Tracking shows delivered but buyer says they never received it — or tracking shows it's lost.
First — verify the shipping address
At checkout, buyers confirm and lock in their shipping address. The seller ships to exactly that address. If tracking shows delivered to the confirmed address and the buyer claims non-receipt, this is a porch theft situation — not a seller error.
Seller — what to do
  • If tracking shows delivered to confirmed address — you are protected. Submit tracking proof through your dashboard.
  • If tracking shows lost or undelivered — file a missing parcel claim with your carrier immediately.
  • Always keep your drop-off receipt — it proves you shipped.
Buyer — what to do
  • 1.Check with neighbours, building management, or your mailroom first.
  • 2.If tracking shows delivered but you genuinely didn't receive it — file a police report for porch theft. This is required for any insurance claim.
  • 3.If tracking shows the parcel is lost in transit — file a dispute within 3 days. Escrow is held until the carrier investigation is complete.
  • 4.If you provided a wrong address at checkout — this is not covered. Always confirm your address carefully.
Outcome: Tracking delivered + confirmed address = seller paid, buyer handles police report. Tracking lost in transit = carrier claim filed, buyer refunded from escrow when claim resolves. Wrong address provided by buyer = not covered by buyer protection.
🎥
The Packing Video — Your Most Important Protection

Before you seal any package, record yourself packing the item on your phone. Show the car's condition, how you wrap it, placing it in the box, and sealing it — one continuous take, no cuts. This video is your legal evidence in every dispute scenario above.

Damaged claim
Proves item left in perfect condition. Carrier pays, not you.
Not as described
Shows item matched listing at time of shipment. Dispute dismissed.
Never arrived
Combined with drop-off receipt, proves you shipped. You're protected.
No packing video = no seller protection. If a dispute is filed and you have no video, you cannot prove the item's condition at time of shipment. The dispute will be resolved in the buyer's favour by default.

Terms of Service

Last updated: April 20, 2026 · Governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada

1. About Diecast Markets

Diecast Markets ("the Platform", "we", "us") is operated by COLLECTORMARKETS, a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada under the Ontario Business Registry. By accessing or using diecastmarkets.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or complete a transaction on this Platform. By using the Platform you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under Ontario law.

3. The Platform's Role

Diecast Markets is a marketplace that connects independent buyers and sellers of diecast collectibles. We are not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers. We do not own, inspect, or guarantee any items listed. All sales are between the buyer and the seller directly. We act solely as a payment escrow and dispute resolution intermediary.

4. Platform Fee

The Platform charges a 12% fee on the final sale price of every completed transaction. This fee is deducted from the seller's payout. There are no listing fees. Payment processing fees (Stripe) are separate and deducted before the 88/12 split. The Platform fee is non-refundable once a transaction is completed.

6. Unboxing Video Requirement

To qualify for full buyer dispute protection, you must record an unboxing video of your package arrival. The video must: (a) show the sealed package from the outside before opening, (b) capture the entire opening process in one continuous take with no cuts or edits, (c) clearly display the condition of the item immediately upon removal, and (d) be recorded within 24 hours of delivery. Disputes filed without an unboxing video may be denied, particularly for "damaged" or "not as described" claims. This requirement protects both buyers and sellers from fraudulent claims and ensures evidence-based dispute resolution.

6. Escrow & Payouts

All buyer payments are held in escrow via Stripe. Funds are released to the seller automatically 72 hours after confirmed delivery, provided no dispute has been opened. The Platform reserves the right to withhold funds during an active dispute investigation. Payouts are made via the seller's chosen method on file.

7. Prohibited Items & Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited on the Platform: counterfeit or replica items sold as authentic; items that infringe intellectual property rights; off-platform payment solicitation; harassment or abuse of other users; false or misleading listings; circumventing the escrow system. Violations may result in immediate account termination and forfeiture of pending payouts.

8. Cancellations & Refunds

Buyers may cancel an order only before the seller generates a shipping label. Once a label is generated, cancellations are not permitted except through the dispute process. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. Note: payment processing fees paid to Stripe are non-recoverable and will be deducted from refunded amounts. The Platform is not liable for Stripe processing fees on cancelled orders.

9. Dispute Resolution

Disputes must be filed within 72 hours of confirmed delivery. The Platform will review tracking information, packing video evidence, and communications to make a determination. The Platform's decision is final. Users agree to cooperate fully with any dispute investigation. Fraudulent dispute claims may result in account suspension and legal action.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, COLLECTORMARKETS and Diecast Markets shall not be liable for: any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages; loss of profits or revenue; items lost or damaged in transit; actions or omissions of third-party carriers, payment processors, or users. Our total liability to any user for any claim arising from use of the Platform shall not exceed the Platform fees paid by that user in the 30 days preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario. Users outside Canada consent to this jurisdiction for all platform-related disputes.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email.

Legal

Seller Agreement

Last updated: April 20, 2026 · By creating a seller account you agree to these terms

⚠️ This is a binding legal agreement. By registering as a seller on Diecast Markets, you agree to all terms below. Violations may result in account suspension, payout forfeiture, and legal action.

1. Seller Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to sell on the Platform. By registering as a seller you represent that you have full legal right to sell the items you list, that all items are your own property or you are authorized to sell them, and that you will comply with all applicable Canadian and Ontario laws including consumer protection legislation.

2. Listing Requirements

All listings must be accurate and not misleading. You must: accurately describe the item's condition (Mint, Near Mint, Very Good, Good, Loose); disclose all known defects, damage, or card imperfections; use your own photos that genuinely represent the item being sold; set a fair and legal price. Listings for counterfeit, stolen, or misrepresented items are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and referral to authorities.

3. Packing Video — Mandatory

Before sealing every shipment, you are required to record a continuous, unedited packing video showing: (a) the item's condition before packing; (b) the item being wrapped and placed in the shipping box; (c) the box being sealed. This video is your sole protection against "not as described" or "damaged in transit" buyer claims. Sellers who cannot produce a packing video will have disputes decided in the buyer's favour by default. The video must be retained for a minimum of 30 days after shipment.

4. Shipping Obligations

Upon a confirmed sale, you must: ship the item within 4 business days; use a tracked shipping service (Canada Post, USPS, UPS, FedEx, or equivalent); enter the tracking number into the Platform within 24 hours of shipment. Failure to ship within 4 business days without communication to the buyer constitutes a seller cancellation and will count against your seller standing. Repeated shipping delays may result in account suspension.

5. Platform Fee & Payout

You agree to pay a 12% platform fee on every completed sale. Your payout of 88% of the sale price (less payment processing fees) will be released automatically 72 hours after the carrier confirms delivery, provided no dispute is open. You are responsible for reporting payout income on your Canadian personal income tax return. The Platform does not withhold taxes on your behalf.

7. Off-Platform Transactions Prohibited

Soliciting buyers to complete transactions outside the Platform — through any channel including messaging, listing descriptions, or external communication — is strictly prohibited. This includes sharing phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles, or external payment links (PayPal.me, Venmo, e-Transfer, etc.) for the purpose of avoiding Platform fees. Violations result in permanent account termination and forfeiture of all pending payouts.

8. Cancellations by Seller

Seller-initiated cancellations (failing to ship after a confirmed sale) are recorded on your seller account. Three or more cancellations within a 12-month period will result in account suspension. Each seller cancellation triggers a full refund to the buyer. Because payment processors (Stripe/PayPal) do not return their processing fees on refunds, a CA$3.00 flat cancellation fee will be deducted from your next payout to recover this cost. This fee applies to every seller-initiated cancellation.

9. Dispute Cooperation

In the event of a buyer dispute, you must respond within 48 hours and provide all requested evidence including your packing video, shipping receipts, and carrier tracking information. Failure to respond to a dispute within 48 hours will result in the dispute being decided in the buyer's favour by default.

10. Account Suspension & Payout Forfeiture

The Platform reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate any seller account for: fraud or misrepresentation; repeated policy violations; chargebacks or payment disputes initiated fraudulently; abusive conduct toward buyers or Platform staff. In cases of fraud, pending payouts may be withheld pending investigation and may be forfeited entirely if fraud is confirmed. The Platform may pursue legal remedies under Ontario law for damages caused by fraudulent sellers.

10. Taxes

Sellers are solely responsible for all tax obligations arising from their sales activity on the Platform, including income tax and HST (if applicable). The Platform does not provide tax advice. Once your total annual sales revenue exceeds CA$30,000 you may be required to register for and collect HST under the Excise Tax Act (Canada). Consult a qualified Canadian tax professional.

11. Governing Law

This Seller Agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Disputes between sellers and the Platform shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

Legal

Buyer Agreement

Last updated: April 20, 2026 · By completing a purchase you agree to these terms

⚠️ Please read carefully. Completing a purchase on Diecast Markets constitutes your acceptance of this Buyer Agreement and our Terms of Service.

1. Purchase & Payment

When you complete checkout, your payment is immediately collected and held in escrow via Stripe. You will receive an order confirmation by email. By submitting payment you are entering into a binding purchase agreement with the seller. The Platform facilitates this transaction but is not the seller.

2. Shipping Address — Confirm Carefully

Your shipping address is locked and confirmed at the time of checkout. The seller ships to exactly the address you provide. The Platform is not responsible for non-delivery or misdelivery resulting from an incorrect address entered at checkout. Address changes after checkout are not permitted once the seller has generated a shipping label. If you need to change your address before a label is generated, contact support@diecastmarkets.com immediately with your order number.

3. Buyer Protection & Escrow

Your payment is protected by escrow. Funds are not released to the seller until: (a) the carrier confirms delivery to your address; and (b) the 72-hour buyer protection window closes without an open dispute. You are protected against: items significantly not as described; items that never arrive (confirmed by carrier). You are not protected against: buyer's remorse or change of mind after shipment; incorrect address entered at checkout; items damaged due to known pre-existing condition accurately disclosed in the listing.

4. Cancellations

Automatic refund if seller does not confirm: If the seller does not confirm your order within 3 business days, your payment will be automatically refunded in full — no action required from you. You may also cancel your order manually within 15 minutes of seller confirmation AND before the seller generates a shipping label — whichever comes first. Once either condition is met, the sale is final and cancellations are not permitted. To cancel within the window, go to My Purchases and click Cancel Order. Once a label is generated, the sale is immediately and permanently final regardless of time elapsed. You must use the dispute process after delivery if there is an issue. Approved cancellations are refunded within 5–10 business days. Note: payment processing fees are non-refundable and will be deducted from your refund.

5. Filing a Dispute

If your item arrives significantly not as described, or does not arrive, you must file a dispute within 72 hours of the carrier-confirmed delivery date. Disputes filed after 72 hours will not be accepted — funds will have been released to the seller. To file a dispute: log into your account, go to My Purchases, and click "File Dispute." Provide photos and a written description of the issue. The Platform will review all evidence including the seller's packing video and make a binding decision within 3 business days.

6. Prohibited Conduct

The following buyer conduct is strictly prohibited and may result in account termination and legal action: filing fraudulent or bad-faith disputes; initiating chargebacks through your bank or credit card company while a Platform dispute is open (chargeback abuse); soliciting sellers to transact off-platform; harassing or threatening sellers or Platform staff.

7. Chargeback Policy

If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or credit card issuer while a Platform dispute is open or after a dispute has been resolved in the seller's favour, the Platform reserves the right to: permanently ban your account; pursue recovery of chargeback costs; report the incident to relevant consumer fraud authorities. All chargeback disputes will be contested by the Platform using transaction records, tracking data, and communication logs.

8. Platform's Decision is Final

The Platform's determination in any dispute is final and binding. By using the Platform, you agree to accept the Platform's dispute resolution decisions as the exclusive remedy for transaction-related disputes, to the fullest extent permitted by Ontario consumer protection law.

9. Ontario Consumer Protection

Nothing in this Agreement limits your rights under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or other applicable Canadian consumer protection legislation. If you are a consumer in Ontario, you retain all statutory rights provided by applicable law notwithstanding any term of this Agreement.
